I am not a christian, I am not in any way offended by what he believes in and how he practices his faith. All I see is a very positive young man who is a good influence, a great athlete with a winning attitude.

What I do find amusing is how so many that speak up against him turn around and do exactly what they feel he does that is offensive. Frown
Jerimichael Finley speaks - and the world listens LOL

Personally - I am sick and tired of Jerimichael Finleys clown-like celebrations in the end zone- so we can call it even - or I can just opt not to watch Jerimichael Finley.

Someone needs to let Jerimichael know - in America - if you dont like the media - you are free to turn it off.

Every time I see one of these clowns in the end zone I often wonder “WWDB” do.

*What Would Dick Butkus do.

(*Hint - they would only do it once, next time coming across the middle they would be in hospital ….)
Wow, incredibly quiet on the Tebow front today. The Denver luck has run out, but they remain in first place in the AFC West.

I must say I was impressed with Denvers running game yesterday. There was a point in the beginning of the 2nd quarter where for some reason Denver decided to pass the ball on 2nd and 10. Incomplete. This led them to a 3rd and 10, and eventually New England got the ball. I thought that was the momemtum change, because Denver had the New England defense guessing. Denver is a well oiled machine on the ground....I was very impressed with their offensive zone blocking scheme and runningback reads. New England made better adjustments on both sides, and that was the difference. But I have to admit Denver was scary there for a little while, and I think their kicker may be the best in the whole league. Prater is a stud muffin.
Prater is ranked 31st in the NFL in accuracy. He has a big leg. But he's below 50% from 40-49 and missed one from 20-29.

The Patriots made two key defensive changes. In the second period they switched from a 4-3 to a 3-4. It allows for more read and react.

In the second half they played more man to man coverages even though they've played zone all year with three or four defensive backs out injured. It's known Tebow is a one read quarterback. After one read he takes off, hopefully to his left to get a linebacker or corner in no man's land between Tebow and receiver.

As part of the man to man defense the Patriots picked up the pass rush on Tebow rather than laying back in prevent like other teams have done. The rush from the left came in a cautious, prevent him from turning the corner mode.

Vince Wilfork commented part of the strategy was they noticed in game film Tebow can be reckless with the ball while running around. He was stripped three times. He managed to recover two.

This was Tebow playing against Tom Brady, I didn't doubt for one mimute that the Pats would lose.

Denver kept them busy and Tebow has improved significantly. Tebow also made it his business to go meet and shake the winning quarterbacks hand. I wonder who was more excited to meet who. Wink

Please! That's standard procedure after a game.

The Patriots don't make negative comments about their opponents. It's called "The Patriot Way." Wes Welker was benched for the first period of a playoff game last year for making a comment about the Jets coach even though he was attempting to be funny.

But make no doubt about, Brady's hard spiking of the ball when he scored was a statement. He normally crawls out of the pile without the ball or hands it to a referee. The word on the radio was the Patriots were tired of being compared to the Broncos all week leading up to the game. What you may not have seen was Vince Wilfork Tebowed when Tebow was sacked for -28. Then he made nice comments about him in the press conference.

Even one of the Broncos commented he thought Brady's spike was a "Take that!" attitude.

RJM - "Chicks dig the long ball!" I hear ya, and I know he's not the most accurate but he can kick like a mule when it counts. When Denver was on their winning roll, he won at least 4 of those games and they were long field goals. For their type of limited offense, you need someone with a big leg. Prater fits the bill.

TPM - Agreed. There is a chance they'll meet in the playoffs which may be more interesting than yesterdays game. I'm willing to bet New England wants no part of stopping their run game again in the post season.

Now I'll say something positive about Tebow. When he scored his touchdown he saved his praying for the sideline. It's not his fault if the cameraman follows him to the sideline. In his postgame interview he only thanked Jesus once at the beginning of the interview. It could be due to the Kurt Warner call. Warner told Tebow to tone it down and mentioned it publicly.

Is he making big kicks on the road? Apparently Mesko (Patriots punter) was irked when asked by a Denver reporter to compare himself to Colquitt. His response was, "Sunday we'll both be kicking in the same altitude."

Mesko and Colquitt are asked to do two different things. Colquitt is often asked to kick the Broncos out of trouble. With the way the Patriots move the ball Mesko is often asked to punt the other team into trouble.

Only if they can beat the Ravens or the Steelers.

My surprise was I thought the Broncos defense was better. It must have been the competition. They're 1-4 this year against Brady, Rogers, Stafford and Rivers. They beat Rivers while the Chargers were losing their sixth in a row of a six game losing streak.

AFC North 32-23 Worst record 4-10
NFC North 31-25 Worst record 2-12
AFC East 29-27 Worst record (2 tied at 5-9)
NFC South 29-27 Worst record 4-10
AFC West 28-28 Worst record 6-8
NFC East 26-30 Worst record 5-9
NFC West 26-30 Worst record 2-12
AFC South 22-34 Worst record 1-13

The AFC West has a .500 record both in and out of their division. Even the score differential is exactly even for the Division. I would say they are the definition of average when it comes to NFL Divisions. In fact, their last place team has the best record of all last place teams and one of those wins was the Packers only loss!
AFC West: Where the second place team (Raiders) gets pounded by a last place team (Dolphins). Where the second place team is one game back after losing three straight down the stretch. Where a team that lost six straight still has a shot at the division with two games remaining. The only AFC division where the Broncos still have a shot at the playoffs.

Here's another history lesson. The Broncos gave up 135 points in three games to the Patriots, Packers and Lions. Given one of these games was this weekend I wouldn't expect an improvement against quality teams.

You apparently have Jermichael Finley confused with someone else. He is not known for "clown-like celebrations in the end zone."
In my eyes the AFC West is poor... but, the NFL is given to this situation every year. If the Giants don't fall asleep at the end of the game last year and let DeSean galavant down the field for a TD the Packers, the mighty Packers (sorry Vince) don't even make the playoffs.

So this year, I gotta feeling if the Chargers make the playoffs they will win the whole thing... nobody would want to play them right now... So once again, Tebow has lots of people rooting for him (and the Broncos)...

snow day for me today... ha ha... finish up the shopping... and help the mrs sample cookie dough.

And you have apparently missed my point. So we are even.

I have read many of your posts - so - for the sake of saving alot of my time and yours - I will agree with you.

Invalid contrast.
Loss of effect.
Blah blah blah blah blah. Yeah OK.

Up until about a week or so ago - the only thing I cared about as far as Tebow was concerned was that - if and when he plays the NY Giants - he gets his butt whooped.

Just simple thoughts for a simple man.

Now - I hope Tebow ramps up the praying stuff at this point - just to freak out all the people that believe they have the right to control freedom of speech - among many other things.

I guess the final irony will be getting Michael Vick - the dog torturing - dog killing - gangster - to give his opinions on Tebow's expression of faith.

At that point - I will know the insane circle will have been fully completed.

Big Grin

Tex - no question I could be wrong about this - but I think that Googling for that verse is alot less harmful than videos of dog murders or the media's presentation of self-absorbed nonsense that seems to spew forth each day from the latest "misunderstood felon" of the day.

The horror - the horror. LOL

93 million people who don't know who Rollen Stewart is.
