Howdy:
The ball was hit, landing foul (about 10 feet from home plate), then rolled back across the foul line into the infield. The pitcher walked over pick up the ball and walked back to the mound. The batter had taken 2 steps toward first, stopped, turned around, picked up the bat and returned to the batter's box. The pitcher then resumed pitching.
