Theo Epstein - Red Sox graduated from Yale and U of San Diego Law School 3. Brian Cashman - Yankees Catholic U of America 4. Mark Shapiro - graduate from Princeton 5. Neal Huntington -...

Re: Mike Epstein Torque Drill ?
Diablo, you are brainwashed....Graduate from Epstein and learn.....Hitting is not rotational vs. linear.....A high level swing is about efficiency....Not sitting on the back leg and counter-rotating....MLB hitters don't do the stuff you and Epstein preach.....

Re: Mike Epstein Torque Drill ?
I'd add that the 'torque drill' is the starting point of several drills that Epstein teaches with. I bought his DVD a couple of months ago and am using his drills on my son (he's always the guinea pig). I'm very impressed with the results, I'll now be comfortable using the drills with our team this fall. If you're thinking about trying these drills I'd suggest getting the DVD since there are some finer points that you won't see without the full explanation.

Re: Mike Epstein Torque Drill ?
StyleMismatch, Thanks for that information. Obviously I have not seen the DVD. Maybe the word "torque" would be easier to understand after viewing the DVD. Or if I were an engineer! Or even a mechanic! I kind of forgot the topic here was "Mike Epstein Torque Drill?" Sorry if it sounds like I'm a naysayer. I'm not!

Re: Timing of Load
I gotta say, after thinking about the difference in Epstein's methods vs anyone in the BlueDog camp, I really think that Epstein is right in that the kinetic chain does work its way up. I've been swinging a bat for the last half hour, trying to really *feel* the swing. Doggie says (ok, i'm paraphrasing - let me know if i'm wrong bd) its all from the 'middle', and works its way up AND down. I think that the entire body is connected, and it really starts with the front heel coming down. That...

Re: Summer Greatness
one, how could a team still playing be a greatest team ever? no one has seen what any has accomplished.... because the season is not over.... two, there is not a team out there (full roster) that could compare to Mustangs, Black Sox, Kyle Chapman, Austin Slam Col.umbia Angels teams of the early 90's.... Not so .......your confusing me with one of several hundreds others that did however. NO point leaving a lob shot chest high at the net Linear without ducking. I might send you a clip of a good player( 18) that is working to improve. "ted ...your killin me man...LOL LOL LOL" Your words in response to Ted who criticized *****. In the context of the discussion it was very clear that you agreed with him and enjoyed his point. Dishonest again buster? A better explanation comes from Epsteins tag line only slightly different. "Maybe his swing doesn't match what he teaches" And if the can duplicate what they see, why not show em?
